I have a 2000 GT auto and I just had my O/D light start flashing so I hooked my SCT tuner up and it thru the code p0781 1-2shift code. My car is NOT shifting any different, not hard, no noise or anything. I called american muscle tuning department and its weird considering it shifts normal. I am going to return the car back to stock and see if the problem persists but I want to know if anyone has any input on this issue. It started happening a day after a coyote came out of the ditch and t-boned me in the driver side door. It just hit my door and a little bit of my front wheel well. I hope its not a big issue but we will see

P0781 SSA or internal parts 1-2 shift error

The Ford workshop manual in Section 307-01 has a fairly long pinpoint test for this DTC. Much too long for me to post.

Have you inspected the gear selector under the car to see if it was damaged?

If you are interested in getting a copy of the Ford workshop manuals, wiring diagrams, and PCM manual for your car, I maybe able to help. PM if interested

P0781 b

SSA or internal parts

1-2 shift error

Engine rpm drop not detected when 1-2 shift was commanded by PCM.

Incorrect gear selection depending on failure or mode and manual lever position. Shift errors may also be due to other internal transmission concerns (stuck valves, damaged friction material).

REFER to Solenoid Operation Chart. Go To Pinpoint Test A .

Well...I put the car back to stock with my SCT Tuner and the light didnt come on or anything. I will assume I need some new tunes so I will have to wait. My car is in the body shop getting it fixed from having a coyote run into me on the highway. I am having the shop look at the gear box thing under the car and check all the wiring. Will keep ya updated

krooxstang:

Don't you see it, man? It's sooo obvious... the COYOTE running into your Mustang... is a sign from on high that you need to put a 5.0L engine into your Mustang. Amen.

I bet the MLPS got a little out of adjustment, especially if traces of coyote bits and pieces are on the underside of the floorpan.

HTH,

Chris
