Fuel P2004 Code 3.9 Auto.

My son has a 2004 3.9 V6 auto w/83000mi. Check engine light came on and when we pull the codes, we see a P2004 (only - nothing else). After some searches we find many listed as an IMRC closed code. The car has no IMRC as this is a V8 component. Have also seen a "fuel volume regulator control circuit high". Drive ability and fuel economy hasn't changed. Idle is fine - smooth. Acceleration / lift throttle deceleration is smooth and normal. Any ideas what to check in order of likelihood?

3.9s have IMRC.

There's a solenoid for it on the manifold that is usually the culprit.

Thanks. Where on the photo is the solenoid you're talking about? There's a FPR on the lower right of the photo (front left of manifold). There's an IACV on the top left (right rear of manifold). There's an EVR on bottom left (front right of manifold). Or is there something else in back or underneath I'm missing?

Thanks for the insight. So nylon plastic bushings had deteriorated. Put new ones in runs fine thanks.
