It annoyed me ,and I recently had a road bike accident and had a sore elbow. So i used one inch foam and some kinda kicck ass stretchy leather vinyl that matched my black leather trim...oh ya,what im talkin about
The vinyl is called black whisper from Joanne Fabrics. It is not shiny, and has a slight stretch to it. It is the top of line material.You would swear it was leather. The job is easy but takes a little time and care to do it right. Cut and contour the foam to fit over the original,,important to contour the foam,the stretch and pull and shape and staple the leather in,which all the staple work is covered by original plastic base plate....my interior is black and tan so the console looks sweet and I can lean into it on left turns now .....it looks original but a little bigger and black You need a staple gun and half a yard of vinyl,and 1 inch green foam,,,,one hour,10 bucks
