Hey,
I'm getting ready to put my motor in my car...finally. I found a tapped whole in the block about 1" up from the center of the motor mount bosses on the drivers side. There is a whole similar to this on the passenger side, but it just looks like a drilled and tapped whole. What goes into the tapped whole on the drivers side???

THANKS

i couldn't find any holes. The motor mounts have bolts and then an inch forward (toward front of car) is a freeze plug then the starter wire bolts up. On the drivers side, I didn't see a freeze plug after the motor mount...the oil filter is pretty close to the motor mounts?

It looks like to me to be the oil passage. If I am correct, it should just have a pipe plug in it. It's also a nice place to get an oil pressure reading. There should be a couple pipe plugs in the block. Just look in the hole and if it looks like it goes somewhere, it's an oil passage. Just get a pipe plug and screw it in.

That's probably what I will do. I just wasn't sure if it was for something "special".

I just realized I spelled "hole" wrong in the thread title...what a tard. oh well

Thanks for the suggestions!!

just a tapped hole. Possibly for a knock sensor on another vehicle. Its not a through hole, dont worry about it

not an oil passage... does it go into anything? if anything, it's where a block drain would go to drain the coolant..
