Hey, I have a 1988 mustang gt that we just switched over from efi to carb and for the wiring we used a painless wiring kit and we put in msd ignition. Today i just finished wiring the car and went to start it up and when i turned the key I got nothing. I double checked everything i did and it looks right to me. Anyone have any ideas or any suggestions on how to wire this other than useing the painless kit. This car is just for the strip so it doesnt need all the break lights and stuff so keep that in mind. Any help would be great because this wiring is driving me insain.

You get nothing? I don't know what you've tried so far, but if you're getting nothing, maybe it's the battery? If the battery is good, check your grounds. Without ground, you ain't goin nowhere...I learned that the hard way. You can check ground easily by taking a set of jumper cables and hooking the Neg. ends to your neg. battery terminal and then something grounded like the alt. bracket or something. Hope this helps.

or/and jump your solenoid. then troubleshoot from there, once you know if it will start when by-passing the solenoid (and how).

good luck.

I jump the selinoid and it turmed over for a plit second and then sparked like crazy and burned me. Also i grounded everything cause i too had a previous problem with that.Anything else>?
