Thank you very much Quick LX, the ES...isn't that like the lighter red, where it is kinda orangish in the bright sun? What is performance red..non-clearcoat?

Yeah the ES Vibrant Red does look somewhat orange in the sun, it is the 1993 Cobra color.

The Performance Red is this...albeit kinda faded on my old car...its a single stage paint, no clear...if you wax or buff it, your cloth/pad comes back with color on it

THAT explains alot.... that was the whole reason i got my car repainted. Everytime i used mothers gold class wax, my damn towels ALWAYS had red on them.

If you guys ever need to look up paint codes or color usage www.sherwin-automotive.com/formula works very well. Its the same site we use to mix the paint at the store only difference is without a log in you cant see the toners that go into the color.

OH... I knew that!!! I painted a 78 Mustang for my good friend. That was yellow, and when we wet sanded it and rubbed it, it made a mess. How long does that take to fade? I personally like the base/clear, but that single stage, you can wet sand, rub and make it look flatter and deeper, and it's as a rock! I bet it wouldn't chip as easy.

Eh I would never paint a car without clear these days. When you wet sand and buff a clearcoat, you are working on just that: the clear. On a single stage car you are cutting into the color, taking down the finish each time you work on it. I also dont beleive it is any tougher than any clearcoat finish, its not like a urethane or lacquer. To me, though, the hottest looking paintjob is black lacquer if you can find someone who knows how to lay it down!

I am using your site, which is now on my favorites!! Amazing.

The EP, is Vermillion....is that red??? Anybody have pics??

I also see B7 is Zinc yellow. That was used 00-03? That is the dull yellow right? The chrome Yellow was 93-99, so that is what I want.

The EP Vermillion is just about the same as the EY performance red. people interchange the names alot

Zinc Yellow is more of a faded yellow color, if you want a better yellow try the BZ chrome yellow or the screaming yellow of later new edge cars.
