well...i have a cervinis hood...and its not painted yet..still white..and my car is blue...the roof is faded badly and cracked...paint all around car is not in that good of shape...in the future i plan on having my whole car painted blue with the same color as my Ranger truck...but...my point is...that will be awhile and im really geting sick of looken at this white hood...also

my buddy is doing some painting..he is a beginer but i was thinken of just having him take the paint code and get the paint and just paint the top side of it, just leave the bottom white...and just use the cheaper paint thats one step stuff with the clear already in it....im not concered about the quality of the paint job..cause i dont care...cause ill be geting it paint again anyway...i mean if its all flaken off and super bad i care but it wont be

my main question is...do you think my car is faded bad enough that it will look like crap not being matched? or will it be not to bad...my girl friend had a fender painted on her firebird and in the right light you can tell its not the same..but nothing to complain about....just looken for some input here from some guys who know more about this stuff

pic of car can be found here: you have to copy and paste addy into new browser

I'd leave the hood alone. If you get it sprayed now, then decide to have the entire car painted later on, it'll just have to sprayed again anyways. That's just more labor to pay someone to do it again. And besides, (and this is no offense to your friend) a pro shop will most likely prep that glass hood better than your buddy, laying down the proper foundation so that new paint won't flake or crack on that fiberglass. If your tired of looking at that hood, just look at that cracked paint on the roof, it can turn to rust before you know it, focus on getting that taken care of. It may cost you less in the end if you can fix it now, especially if the primer under the paint isn't hurt yet.
