paint imperfections

i have a black car and am noticing a lot of little imperfections in the paint on the front bumper and the front of the hood. i guess they are from tiny rocks or other things being thrown from cars in front of me. they are really scratches i guess but maybe a scratch remover like the nu finish one would be the best idea. or should i try one of those colored waxes (black obviously)to fill them in or cover them up. i spend around 5 hours a week washing and detailing the car and i hate not being able to hide these spots. what would u do?

alright. another question, i took the little plastic thing that goes down the side of the driver side door to keep it from getting messed up when u open ur door into another car off, cuz it kept popping off, and there is a little half inch section along the edge of the door where the paint is completely gone. i went to pepboys and got some touch up paint, clear coat, and wetsander. do i apply the black, then the clear, and then gently wetsand it to smooth it out? i have never done paint on a car before.

For the side molding, Pep Boys and other many other auto parts stores sell a 3M trim tape in the auto body section... it's a gray/black color and it comes in a couple widths for body molding... it's designed for automotive use.

For scratch removing, I'm not familiar with Scratch-X or Nu Finish, but with the Mothers Scratch Remover, you want to work just a little product very lightly and in varying directions. Sometimes 2 or 3 applications maybe be necessary, but so long as they're not all the way through the clearcoat, you should see a good improvement.
