I have no clue though i would like to see any car including my own done in Like Satin Black, I just think it would look mean. It would kinda have a Road Warrior feel.
I have done several engine compartments, hoods, taillight panels as well as a golf cart in a satin finish.
Where ease of cleaning and durability are concerned, that depends on what materials you use to acheive the satin look.
The "hotrod black" laquer primer finish is the not the way to go.
Some guys will spray a car in epoxy primer. This is better than laquer primer but has no UV resistance.
Then theres the flat black enamel. Better than primer but not the greatest coating in the world.
The best way to acheive "the satin look" without sacrificing ease of cleaning or durability is to use a 2k urethane. You can top a normal base coat with a satin clear or use single stage satin urethane.
Most major paint companies offer flattening agents for their clears or singlestage. Some offer pre-packaged flat clears.

Cost depends on the current condition of your car, labor rates in your area, shop you choose to do the work, etc.
Reality is that unless your going for the ratrod look (leave dents, rust, etc) you will spend the same amount for a satin finish job as what you will pay for a gloss job.
Prep time,Labor and materials cost are virtually the same. Some shops may even charge a premium for a satin finish simply because it will take away their ability to be able to cut and buff the finish after its sprayed = Any dirt nibs, etc. will reamain in the final finish unless they respray the affected area.
You need to carry your car to the local shops and get estimates from them.
Think you will find that prices vary greatly from shop to shop.
