Paint Question 87 GT

[MY 85 GT]

I have an 87 GT convertible...the car was repainted the stock color scarlet red code 2D...im sure its single stage paint not base coat clear coat...Anyways i compounded the whole with a 1500 rpm buffer then had waxed it the car looked awesome for one day...LOL..its been raining on and off when the rain did stop the car looked well hazed or faded already i waxed a section and it shined right up...Why is the paint doing this Does this mean everytime i was it or it rains i have to re-wax it to shine and not have that hazy look to it?

A 1500 compound is still kinda rough. Might want to go over it with a 2000, then a polishing compound then wax.

Ok i can try to use a polish compound...How about a sealer type wax ?...Anyone know a good type to use?

Anything that has a good bit of Carnuba in it...might look at the McGuire products.

i wouldve done 2000 or even 3000 if you can find it.

Harley wax is the only stuff i use, pure caranuba no cleaners. Apply wait till it hardes, yes its like candle wax when it drive, then grab LOTS of rags to get it off, but once it does it makes a HARD barrier over the paint
