Painting GT tail lights

I picked up some GT Tail lights for my 91 they are currently black and i would like to paint them red.. can this be done with spray cans and look good? if so how would i go about doing it?

well i don't think you can pull the lenses apart, if so i would like details . so you are going to have to mask off the lenses.

i have no useful info, but i did see a thread a while back where some company was making pre-cut mask-offs for the GT tail lenses. i guess you just peel the little shape out, and stick them over the part you dont want painted.

Masking tape , primer, and paint is all yopu need.. A rattle can will work fine..

You have to tape each individually, and if you prep them correctly the rattle can could look alright, however you they most likely wont match the stock color.

just get some painters tape and put strips on and press em in with your nails then use an exacto knife to cut them all out...yuck... and no ive never done it but thats what id try until told otherwise lol...

....or trade someone for red

Well i got some good news today...went to the body shop that sprayed my hood last year and if i tape them off he will spray them for me i have to get a chip in the hood fixed anyway... thanks for all the advice
