Painting Gauge Needles?

I really don't like the look of the piss yellow needles that come on the factory guages. I would like to paint them red. What all going to be involved in doing this. I will probably just do it whenever I get some white face guages. Anything I need to watch out for. I thought I would spray them with some Krylon Fusion, that stuff will stick to just about anything.

The only downside I could see to doing that is that you'll probably lose the needle illumination.

Or maybe not. I guess if you took off the old paint first and just painted the backside of the needles...

Well I painted mine when I did my white face overlays.... I used some Laser Red (E9) touch up paint and just lightly and carefully brushed it on. Although maybe you should buy some finger nail polish and do your nails first for some practice... I'd hate for it to clump up on you! Or have your mom/sister/significant other do it

I wonder if black would work.....One of my needles has a little of the orange paint like chipped off, so it must be pretty easy to get the old off, and if it does come off good, you could just paint the backside and they'd almost look stock.

BTW - Rel, what kind of white fac gauges do you have? I like the red accents on them.

He doesn't have any listed but I e-mailed him and bought them directly for $35 shipped.
