The issue you may run into is you can't really wet sand flat or matte paint to correct any blemishes you may have in your paint as once you sand you need to buff to remove any fine sanding marks left behind (and you will have them) The very nature of buffing will create a gloss. If your not an experienced painter it might be to much to start with. If you insist on doing it a bc/cc with a satin clear would be the way to go IMO.
