painting my calipers...can I paint the whole thing...even inside where the

pads sit? they are completely stripped down right now no pads or anything b/c i needed to sand them to get all the surface rust out...i bought new bolts and rubber boots too...what im wondering is can i paint the whole thing even where the pads rest and all the bolt holes or no? thanks

Yes, just tape off the rubber seals and don't put any paint where the banjo bolt washer will seat.

Banjo Bolt is the bolt that holds the actual brake line to the caliper.

As far as I'm aware, the hose doesn't attach with a banjo bolt, it has a threaded tip that screws right into the caliper. We ARE talking about a Mustang right?

yes my cobra calipers have a bolt that holds the hose in place.

Well I guess they're different than my "old school" '86 Capri brakes. Carry on as you were, men.

the banjo bolt being the bolt with the hole in it right? that lets fluid thorough to the caliper?

are there any online pics so i can see which bolt i have?? as far as coarse and fine thread...a side by side pic would be great if anyone has it...thanks again guys...also do you prefer the russell ss lines or the MM ones?

Just take a caliper to home depot and thread a bolt in the banjo bolt port.

If it's an SAE bolt (i think 7/16) then it's coarse. If it's metric (M10-1.5) i think, then it's fine.
