Had the verbal attacks been squashed early on, or non-tech items been routinely cleared out of tech, I don't think we would have ever gotten to this point. That's why I have always felt OT threads should be cleared from Tech. If we kept this forum strictly to discussing Classic Mustangs there would be little chance of things spiraling into such a mess. We would have more integrity as a forum and a stronger contributing membership. People should be able to come to this forum with the shared interests in Classic Mustangs and be able to leave all their differences (political, race, religion, age, economic status, education level, etc) out of it.
Just my opinion
I agree, the moderators of this forum need to take responsibility for not nipping it in the bud. You can point the finger at both Oz and Pak, but the reality is that with the rules posted and that have been referenced many a time from GP and I alone in our previous disagreements (which never turned so ugly), are not enforced consistently enough, especially in the insults and disagreement capacity.
Forum Moderators - Please learn from this and enforce all rules consistently, this could have been avoided and a certain amound of responsibility has to lay with the moderators. Granted Oz and Pak are grown men, as is Hop, GP, myself etc. and we should know better, but if pushing the envelope is not acceptable here, things wouldn't get personal and out of hand.
PS. GP, you and I seem to be agreeing quite a bit lately, are you scared like I am...lol...
