Panhard Rod

I'd recommend it..if your increasing power

Hi,

I lowered my 05 GT by 2" back and 1" front (Steeda Sport Springs). As I increased power by 50HP (underdrive pulley's and CAI) I felt a panhard brace was a good idea. This year I'm installing a Kenne-Bell blower with the intention of 430rwhp so any additional bracing is a good idea (I also installed trailing rear control arms as well to stiffen things up).

Cheers!

My car was recently lowered and I have not gotten a new panhard rod yet. Is it really needed for a lowered car? And does it help handling at all?

Measure the distance from the outside of the tire to the edge of the wheel well in the back on both sides of the car. They should be the same distance, if not then a Panhard Bar (Adjustable) will take care of this. Other than that, have the camber checked and an alingment done to complete the lowering mod, you dont want to wear out those fronts now do ya?

the panhard bar is responsible for CENTERING the rear end. if you lower the car, the rear end shifts to the passenger side. the adjustable panhard moves the rear back toward the center.

Cool... I was just gonna ask what the panhard bar does. So you do not need the bar if you do not lower your stang?

most likely not. you can check to make sure your rearend is centered in the car by using a plumb bob and measuring the distance from the wheel to the outer edge of the wheel well. if it is centered, you dont need the adjustable panhard bar. you might upgrade to polyurethane bushings for spirited driving.
