How do you remove the parking brake cables from the rear drums on a '66 Mustang Coupe? I can see how to remove them from the body, but not from the drums..

Since I lost my e-brake bracket somewhere down the hwy before I did the EFI conversion, I plan to upgrade to the fox style e-brake lever after I do ultrastangs rear disc conversion. I know it's probably not recommended, but I plan to drive this on Sundays without the parking brake setup until I can afford all parts for the rear disc conversion.

If you want to remove the cable from the backing plate, all you need is a box-end wrench. I forget if it's a 1/2" or a 9/16." You just put the end of the wrench around the cable end and push it against the backing plate. This will compress the tabs that are holding the cable in place. Then, you can pull it out from the backside.
