I have recently put together an 87 gt and am currently having problems with my parking lights, windshield motor and turn signals. I also cannot use my turn signal lever to hold the brights on. If i pull the lever towards me the brights will come on, but if i push it away to the hold possition, they will not get bright. The one thing that does work is my hazards. Any ideas on fixing the problem. I tried replacing the turn signal lever with another used one, but it did the eact same thing.

If the fuses are good, the multifuction switch may be defective, or the wiring may have come loose from the plastic connector shell.

A word of caution about multifunction switches is in order here. The multifunction switch (high/low beam, wiper, turn signals) are different for different years. 87-98 will work in any 87-89 car. The 90-93 switches only work in 90-93 cars. You can't put an early model switch in a late model car, nor can you put a late model switch in an early car.

Supposedly you can move the pins around to make the switches work in model years that are different from the car the switch came out of. I cannot verify that and haven’t tried it .

Im not sure the wiring on the 87GT but from the Mf the wiring for the low beam and hi beams is on two sepearte feeds. and the powe rto the flash to pass is different then the power for the high/low beams fromt eh switch. the flash to pass only works when ignition is on and the headlights both hi and lo work when kignition source is off. (constant) if the flash to pass works then i woudl assume the multi function switch or the mf connector is bad...

well I had some extra multi function switchtes and found out that the one on the column was a 90-93 and i replaced it with an older one and now everything works except the turn signals. I have already checked the fuses. What else could be wrong.
Thanks for the help.
