I offered 26500 out the door for the 2010 gt from my previous post. Has 2000 worth of roush parts that were dealer installed. Only 7200 miles. Black with black leather. shker sys., microsoft sync, etc.

the sales guy kept trying to tell me it was too lof of an offer for him to take. Then he called in reinforcements. The sales manager came and then hes the one that ended up getting me down to 27000. I'm going back tomorrow morning. I don't think I'm gonna let this car get away for 500. I'll still push for 26500, but will settle for 27000. I keep thinking the worst and someone will come in and scoop it up half hour before i get there.

Five Oh,

Wow, have I heard that before!

V-8, don't rush, but if you are happy with the deal, then go for it. Did you get a chance to drive a new one to compare?

If you really want the car and you can afford it go for it, I don't think you'll be able to touch an '11 for under sticker until winter and most of those are decently loaded are going to be over 30K and lord only knows what kind of financing incentives they will or will not have.

The dealer I work for is special ordering '11 GT's for just $399 over the factory invoice total (roughly $2,000 below MSRP for an average GT Premium Coupe). And, Ford is offering a $500 rebate on '11 GT's and V6's to start off the model year right now, so that's about $2,500 off MSRP where I work on an '11 GT, and I can't imagine we're the only dealer in the country offering that good of a deal.

You must be the only dealer, because nobody is budging off of sticker here. And this area will get a good amount of GTs, because it is a big market with a lot of people with money.

Brian,

Now that cars are being built, do you have a sense of how long it will take a car to arrive if ordered now?

Greg

well guys, I brought it home. I got them down to $27K out the door versus 29,900 out the door of their original price. I love the car. To anyone considering getting a roush shifter--DO IT!

I've been in the middle of a honey-do list and haven't had much time to post back here. But I will give more details and pics soon. Thanks to all for input. I LOVE my new car, and smile everytime I look at it. People act like it's an Aston Martin or something--I've gotten so many compliments and inquirie in just a day and a half. One guy stopped in front of my house just to ask me about it.

Still...the 2011s sticker for more than the 2010s and the $3k + $750 private cash (to current mustang owners) plus the willingness of lots to deal in order to clear their inventory makes it a great time to snag an 0'10.

No doubt the 2011s are monsters but I'll let others beta test the powertrain while I wait a few years to trade my 2010 in.

Congrats VPStang. Enjoy! Mine looks just like yours, without the Roush parts.

STANGMole, Agreed. The savings on a 2010 are hard to beat. I also plan on letting the hype die down on the 2011 and let Ford get the kinks worked out and maybe look for a 2012 in a year or so. I've seen one dealer who is taking deposits on 2011 GTs and selling them for over MSRP and they aren't even there yet! I guess some crazy fools are going for it though. That puts the price close to $40K. For that, I would just move up to a GT500.

Thanks!! I know some might think i overpaid or didn't explore other options but considering the shape this thing is in and compared to other stangs and prices in the greater birmingham area--i actually did well. I didn't want to deal with a private seller. Even the 3v had problems when it first came out- so i wouldn't buy it right out the gate. I'll have one someday but It'll be long after others have had them already. Not to knock others who are getting one right away. Because I will be envious and curious until I get mine. I just don't see much incentive pricing going on for this new 5.0--you don't give it away until you have to.

Is the 5.0 a 2nd v8 option or is it the only v8 option?

Nice one VPStang!!:nice:

Similar to mine but the one I got was a grabber blue auto with wing delete. My last Mustang was black and my heart still skips a beat every time I see a black one...then I remember what a PITA it was to keep clean and looking good!:D At least the 2010 paint appears to be WORLDS better than the paint on my '08 (and even that was better than GM or Chrysler for swirling and rock chips). For whatever reason my paint on the black '08 was thin in spots from the factory, like they messed up on the clearcoat. I had to buff it out to get it to shine on the right front fender and to remove hazed spots from the hood. All the 2010s I've seen look flawless.

My 2010 stickered for $38K and I got it for MUCH less than that after discounts and X plan. The same car new with the 5.0 stickers for about $40K and I don't see them discounting them as much for awhile...I'm glad I got mine (the one I wanted in the color I wanted with the options I wanted) when I did!
