Ford = Fix Or Repair Daily ????

Anyways,,

Yesterday my 05 Mustang GT started acting up the window didn’t work properly

:Damnit:

Yesterday I opened the passenger side door to put my coat in, I closed the door went in the driver side and drove away, in the highway I felt the car is not air tight so I click on the window button to pull it up, at lunch I wanted to drop a friend off to his car in the mall so after he closed the door I noticed the window didn’t go up, I closed it my self and then opened the door to test it, same problem so I left my friend and got back home, tried it a few more times same problem,

Now with the 05 Mustang when you open the door the window goes slightly down, when you close the door the window goes back up slightly (this is very noticeable, I didn’t like the idea from day one, but I guess its necessary since there is no window frame for the door)

So the problem I had was when I open the window it goes down but when I close the door the window doesn’t go way up,
So if you don’t close the window manually the car is not air tight, I also noticed with the problem is that when your window is completely down and then you on the window button to pull it up u have to keep your hand at the, thats not how it should be, you are supposed to be able to close it with one click,

Anyway I would just like to know if any of you experienced it, the problem disappeared but I worried it will happen again, I called the dealership and told them if I could bring it in, but there is no visible problem now, the windows work perfectly now

If it happens again I will take a video to document the problem

This is probably basic knowledge, but I'll say it in case it isn't. Each window control has four settings (in order from push): auto down, manual down, manual up, auto up. The window slides up slightly when you close the door to create more sound reduction.

That said, I assume your window was acting up, but I couldn't say why. I haven't had that specific problem, but a couple times the window has rolled itself up on its own. However, because these window problems have been so few-and-far-between, I don't worry about them. I'll be pissed, however, when the window rolls itself down while it's parked on the street at night.

The window froze in place one morning, and was unable to roll down once I opened the door, preventing me from opening the door more than an inch. But I was able to chip away enough ice to make if function again. Gotta pay for the little luxuries in life, I suppose.

I had mine act up twice after heavy rain. The passenger side wouldn't go all the way up after opening and closing the door and the automatic up wouldn't work (the auto down did though). After a few hours it was fine, but before that I was dreading a trip to the dealer, lol.

There's instructions in the owner's manual on how to recalibrate the window positioning yourself. Might be worth a shot if it keeps happening.

Do what he said it should take care of the problem I had to recalibrate mine once with a similar problem.

I did a search in the PDF manual and this is what i found, thanks guys for the response, this will be usefull for next time

Short drop glass (Front windows only)
In order to improve door efforts and sealing, your vehicle is equipped with short drop glass. This feature lowers the glass when either door is opened. The glass returns to its closed position when the door is closed.

Proper operation of the short drop glass requires that the windows be calibrated. Though your windows will have been calibrated before your vehicle is delivered to you, it is possible for the windows to lose calibration. If a window loses its calibration, your short drop feature will lower the window, but will not raise it again when the door is closed. To re-calibrate the window, pull the switch up to raise the window until it completes its travel and hold the switch up for 2 seconds. Another possible effect of lost calibration is that the feature may not lower the window. To re-calibrate the window in this case, lower the window until it completes its travel and hold the switch down for 2 seconds. Immediately after releasing the window down switch, pull the switch up to raise the window until it completes its travel and hold the switch up for 2 seconds. Perform Short drop re-calibration with doors closed only. Re-Calibrating with doors open will cause the window to continuously bounce back.
