Guys I am at a loss for words. My car has 24k miles on it and the passenger window wont work. Whats worst is that at like 12k it was doing funky stuff. Every once in a while you would start the car up and the window would not go down. Then maybe a day later or so the window would go down. Not once was there any noise problem of any kind. When it worked it worked like a champ but when it broke... not a word from it. So I haven't taken anything apart yet. My first step will be to see if the motor is getting power. Once I know that then I will just have to see if the motor has gone bad? Maybe a bad wire? I don't know but what I do know is that I have never taken off one of the door panels on this type of car before. Any suggestions?

Are there any hidden screws I should look for? Will the entire thing pop out by pulling on it? Id appreciate any input from you guys. I don't want to break anything.

Thanks

Mustang window motors are notoriously ****e. I just had mine replaced, it took 133,000 mile though. Sometimes whacking it with a hammer will temporarilly work if its seized. Better to replace it with a new one if its not a power issue. Give it alternate power and see if the motors shot. If so I would get a new one from Ford, no junkyard parts, and bring it to have someone put it in. Its about 1.5 hours labor. The motors like $160. Or spend all day and night putting it in yourself. Just make sure you have a plasma cutter. Kust kidding!!!

Yep, the window motors in the 5.0s i had were weak... Like you're going to do... test for current, then you'll have a better idea. Sometimes water might get into the motor or wiring in the door and that could be a problem. Or the motor just crapped out.

I guess I will let you guys know this weekend coming up. Has anyone pulled the door panel off? Are there any hidden screws I should know about?

Yeap I don't disagree with you there but how many have actually pulled the panel off without actually breaking anything? I have pulled the panel of my F150 but I broke a couple clips cause I was pulling in the wrong direction.

My 01 Gt used to do this and the mach still does from time to time as well. A solid whack on the panel over the motor has fixed it every time so far.

Ahhh thats funny. Actually I did notice sometimes that when a passenger would slam the door, it would start working again. I might try that but has anyone figured out if its like a loose cable? What would cause this?
