Passenger Tailpipe Hotter??

I just recently installed two Borla Pro XS mufflers on my car. I replaced the tailpipes too.

I have noticed that the passenger tailpipe being noticably hotter than the driver side. My car could have been doing this for a long time. I just never checked.

I also run a stock hpipe. I replaced the o2 sensors a couple of months ago.

Any ideas?

perhaps the passenger side bank is running leaner then the driverside and you are getting more heat?

maybe the cat on that side is blocked

Okay....

If the passenger side is running leaner, how can i be sure?

If the cat is clogged, how can i find out?

In other words, how can i troubleshoot this?

oh, could a blown head gasket cause this?

Scan tool, or a scope... you can read what the o2 is saying (rich or lean).

Could be a bad muffler , I had a flowmaster 2 chamber that was bad which caused it to overheat , I was not aware of this until I was at the exhaust shop getting my subframes welded on and the owner pointed it out to me , you could actually see discoloration on the underside of the muffler from it getting hot . the mufflers were only about a week old .

You can get one of those hand held pistal looking infered heat guns and check the temp before and after the cats. I went to the exhust shop in my jag thinking they were bad and thats how they checked them. Just run the car for a bit and get under it while it is running to check the temp. peace
