because of another thread started by another member, i checked for vacuum leaks as the cause of a high/hanging idle.

turns out my pcv valve was partially out--pushing it back in fixed the problem, as a few of you gents mentioned.

took the car out for a spin today and noticed the idle was a little higher than i set it, again. sure enough, the pcv valve wasn't sitting properly again.

so... how do i get the pcv valve to stay in place?? silicone, or something?

i know the valve is the correct one--my buddy, who owns the shop my car was in after the headgasket dilema (nice guy, man, he lent me his lift, cherry picker, tools, AND lemme drive his shop truck around 'til we were done w/ my car), personally ordered the part, so i'm pretty damn sure it's the right one.

thanks, guys!

Matt's right. Also, is it a Motorcraft part Paul? This is one time to order a Motorcraft grommet and PCV valve - they fit so tight that I normally have to use silicone spray to get the PCV valve to seat (and this tight interference fit keeps the grommet squeezed into the lower intake's boss tightly). Before I learned this I used parts store pieces and they fit loose.

Good luck brah.

I gotta second HISSIN50 on this one. Went with a parts-store grommet on Sage2k's car and that sucker pushes out fairly easily. I went with the same grommet on my car and that sucker is in there good. It's a crap shoot.

Go Motorcraft and get 'er done right. :)

I just called Ford, here's a couple part #s (putting them in the wiki also). The local Ford doesn't stock them anymore, both have to be ordered.

PCV Grommet: F7CZ6A892AA $6.57
Supercoupe PCV Valve (Better PCV for boosted guys): EV127A $6.73
