i was on my way to get a battery for the truck after school yesterday, so i could drive it around in the rain instead of the stang. well, now im forced to drive the truck for a bit. some dumbass in a new chevy pickup ran a red light to turn left while i was going straight through, had just gotten off the highway and was doing about 25-30mph, but the wet roads didnt make traction any good for braking and i hit him on his passenger side. was able to drive it home with some rubbing on the passenger side tire on sharp left turns. hopefully the other guys insurance will fix it (i only have liability on this one). tell me what you guys think:

its going to get fixed, salvage title or not, the rest of the car is in too good of shape to part it out or let it get scrapped. i figure now would be a good time to get a good glass hood and maybe a cobra kit on it.

It doesn't look too terrible. Hopefully the other guys insurance will pay for it, but if you end up having to pay for it, it doesn't look like it will break the bank. Did the cops come? Did they give the other guy or you a ticket at all?

i was wondering about the frame as well.....that'll probably make or break their decision in totalling it or not....good luck nonetheless!

Good luck, looks a lil worse than mine and I wouldn't let them total it, Work your ass off, I made a deal with my body guy to use a used fender and bumper that he refinished and he made it just under cost for totaling, GOOD LUCK!!!

If he talks to you about totalling it out make sure you have the papers for all the money you've put into it,you should get it all back. I had it happen to me once and they ended up totalling it out and i showed them the paperwork for all the stuff i've done and it upped the worth of the car alot, bought the car back for like 500 and put the rest back into the car, you can do that, or buy it back, part it out and have alot of money and parts for your next fox...

it doesnt really look all that bad, i havent popped the hood yet to see all the damage, ill wait for that untill the adjuster sees it. it looks like the inner fender on the passanger side is bent upwards though, dont know if thats considered frame damage or not on a unibody car. it drives straight and true though.

ive got receipts for a lot of the stuff ive put on it, just gotta find em, ive still got all of the online receipts though too, hopefully those will work too.

the only thing i'd be concerned about is that cowl panel being scooted back. very sorry to hear about that. i heard everytime a fox is wrecked, an angel loses it's wings.

the cowl actually looks fine, even the plastic piece. i was quite amazed by that. it looks more like the fenders pulled away from cowl, if you look at the base of the windshield you can see the gap between cowl and windshield stayed the same while the fenders slope away a bit more.

oh, and fastfox, yes the other guy got a ticket for running the red light. apparently he just wasnt paying attention and just made the turn without looking anywhere.

alright, ive got an update, and it aint all that good.

state farms estimator was out here yesterday, and tallied up about $3800 in damage (little high sounding to me, but i have no control over that). it looks like the whole front of the car is shoved over to the passenger side about an inch and a half (his distance estimation, not mine). the appraisers called today and it is totalled, said the car was worth about $3200 and they took 500-something off for the hail damage thats barely noticable (love getting screwed by the insurance). i was able to talk the guy into letting me search out some cars in the area in about the same condition as mine to try to get the value back up so it wont cost me so much to fix it, and yes, it is getting fixed, though it may take a little while as i am not working on it in the winter with both school and a fulltime job to take of.

i'd start looking around for both parts and cars, ya know try and decide if you want to part it and use the money to buy a car, or fix the car, if the frame is bent it'll never drive the same. But if you decide to fix it, let them total it out and buy it back, you end up with like what 2800 after you buy it back? Get the parts your self, new fenders would be cheap as well has a new hood and bumper, you can probly spend like 300 to have the frame fixed, dunno about the cowl, Just make sure to look around to find out what is best befor you make up your mind

Well i was had the same problem i had somebody pull out into my car and did some damage. They totalled my car and only tried to give me 3000 dollars for it but my mom got on the phone with the insurance company quite a few times telling them how you cant find another mustang like this around for that price and she finally got them to give me about 4200 dollars for it and we just took the money and put about 4000 into the paint, new gt front bumper, cobra insert, cobra rear bumper, lowered it, new tailpipes and fixed the fiberglass hood. IT did cost 300 to buy it back from the insurance company though. Here what it looked like after the accident and after all the work was done

People tell me they would never guess it was totalled.
