I was just wondering what the difference in power after you rebuilt your 302? did it feel the same driving it? Major improvment?

i have 121,000 on mine.... looking for another block to build while i DD my mustang...

yea it helps a good bit it will feel a whole lot better and the best way to go is to go ahead and bore it to 306 and you will notice a good little difference
? It's only going to 'feel' faster if your current engine is down on power/compression. At 120,000 a healthy motor will possibly 'feel' faster than a tight new rebuild. As for 302-306 there is near ZERO difference powerwise...maybe a few..maybe.

4 ci. isnt going to make a difference.. It feels that way because you have a new engine. Generally ford 302's last a long time if treated well, oil changes and such. If you want to do a rebuild you can find a complete engine foe a few hundred dollars. Nows the time to stroke it if you want more power.:D

i don't really want to stroke it... i just plan to rebuild a 302 yes and bore it out to 306 to clean up everything... then just slap a S-trim on it with about 9lbs...

if the engine doesnt need bored, then i wouldnt bother.

if the cyls are good enough to keep the stock bore. then the pistons are most likely good to go as well. you can save yourself some money, just a good hone will clean it all up.

and you wont notice a difference with the extra 4 ci
