I have a 2006 V6 Mustang with an auto trans.
I am looking to purchase a SCT Xcalibtator2 or a Diablosport Predator to improve the shifting of the trans.
Anybody got any comments on which one is better?

The XCAL-2 is much better for an automatic.

I too have a '05 Mustang V6 automatic. In the garage I have a Magnaflow cat back and Airaid CAI to put on when it warms up here in Minnesota. I know see there is a Xcalibrator 2SF A and B models available. Anyone have an idea what the difference between the 2 models? And, do the 3 programs that come with the Xcal 2 add enough power to warrant the price?

Thanx,
Have a great day!
Cliff

Which one is the best for the man. trans.? Also what type of gains do you see? I have searched to try to find this at many v6 forums but most are dead. . .

I think that the X-cal 2 has been dubbed 'the best' for both the Auto and the Manual 5spd's / the key is getting a good package with the right CAI and a custom Dyno Tune included.

ok here is why i went with xcal 2

last year when i was checking things out no body supported the v6. after numerous calls to both nothing at first except that diablo kept telling me "oh were not going to make one for the v6 no one si modding them." but sct kept saying were working on it soon. and the did what they said. only after diablo saw the screwed up they jumped in. thats why im with sct xcal2 just my opinion

To answer the A vs. B question,

There is no difference between the two hardware wise, but one can be firmware changed to be the other. The files are available via SCT web forum at sctflash.com

Two firmware file sets were developed because there are now too many supported cars and an always growing list of options that it all can't fit on one unit. The A has all the cars and the 05-06 Mustangs, the B had all the trucks and the 05-06 Mustangs. No matter what one you get, it will work for your car.

Furthermore - as you can tell I've done allot of reading - you can back level the firmware on the SF to 9400 specs so it becomes dealer programmable only, but I'd only do this if you had a significant number of mods to warrant it... beyond bolt ons, because I'm not sure you can get it back to 9415 firmware. Have to look into it more for my own future mods.
