Performer 289 or RPM Air Gap

I have an 88 5.0 HO with the stock cam and 1.7 roller rockers in my II with a C4, 2500 stall converter and 3.80 gears. It now has the performer 289 intake. Will a RPM Air Gap be a better intake or should I stick with the one that I have?

With stock cam and/or heads, the Performer is probably as good as the Air Gap, although with that slippery converter and deep gears, I doubt an Air Gap intake would hurt performance.
I would suggest saving up for a bigger roller cam and nicer heads, then install the whole package along with the bigger intake all at the same time.

I don't know about the Edelbrock Air Gap, but I have the Offy 360 and it did well for me. I agree with Blue Thunder....especially about the heads. Open up the breathing and you will open up performance. A little off topic, but also, if you show your car, let me know when some of the shows are in the Corridor. I'd love to see your II in person!!:nice:
