Just bought my new ride on Sat. 08 GT. Playing around with the button to learn them and noticed a Phone Symbol the radio unit on the right side. When pressed it says no phone. The car has the Shaker500. What is this button and what is it used for. Thanks
On the '07, it's just a mute button for the entertainment system. You might check your Owner's Guide under Entertainment Systems to see if it does something different on the '08.

I don't have that on my 07. If it says no phone when you press it then I would guess it is some sort of bluetooth handsfree setup so you can use the audio system for phone calls.
OK Basically it is a feature for designed for bluetooth "add ons" that allows a blue tooth system to be played through the car speakers. Using this "mute" feature the car will mute the radio to allow the phone call to be heard through the speakers at proper volume.
Basically the blue tooth is wired into the "mute" wire and when the phone rings the bluetooth will mute the radio automatically. and the volume stays the same for the phone call.
If a radio doesn't have this feature the radio stays playing at the same volume as the phone call comeing through the speakers at the same time not as nice... You will have to turn down the radio to hear the call.
Yeah with my Parrot system, it mutes the radio, then says "Phone" on the Shaker.
Love the Parrot system by the way, and highly suggest it for those who like the stock radio and don't want to slap in a new radio for BT. The mic is tiny and up by the visor and the little display with the talk and end call buttons fits nicely right above the lights switch area. Perfect reach and out of view of the main cabin. (no drilling too)
Mine has that too, and when I push it it says "No phone", so I thought maybe it was a bluetooth thing from the factory, but couldn't get it to work. Owners manual says it mutes the radio, but it doesn't...
