I added some 17" torq thrusts and a cowl induction hood to my Mustang. What do you think of it? I think I like it alot more than my current wheels & stock hood.

What other aluminum wheels are there out there that look good on a '65 besides torq thrusts? As much as I like them, I think we can all agree that ALOT of people are using TTs these days. Any suggestions?

I have similar wheels cragar ss 15in out back with some fat rubber and 14in in front. like how the hood looks. I would like to get different hood then what I got now but first I got to finish rewiring my car.

Well if you want to be different I know just the thing....get this...some trick black steel wheels, whitewalls, topped off w/ some hubcaps...ooooooh ya baby. But my vote would go to some Edelbrock 454s. I love the look of them on the Cobra cars and yes even Eleanor. I wish they were cheaper.

Well, yeah, a cowl hood and TT2s look pretty good, but I suppose that is why there seems to be bunch of similar looking cars out there these days. TT2s and a cowl hood ain't gonna make a standout anymore... gotta think more creatively. Consider a less popular but equally cool wheel... maybe 17" Cragar SSs or American Racing 200Ss (daisy spokes)... I've had my eyes on some Halibrands recently, or consider a set of the new 17" version of Magnums (not the '03 Machs, but rather the traditional Magnums).

As for body mods, sure, a cowl hood is ok (I personally don't like 'em on Mustangs), but consider some othe options. I'm a huge fan of the original '65 Shelby scoop (especially if its rivetted on... looks more racey). But better than that, I absolutely adore the old tear drop style hoods as seen on old AF/X racers and the original Thunderbolts. Unique, functional, and intimidating... takes balls to run a scoop like that... and it would probably give you room if you wanted to keep the tunnel ram.

The only other body mod I would consider if I had a '65 is a Shelby front valence... love the look of those things!

Darkbuddha, I personally don't like Cragar SS wheels. EVERYONE and their brother has them! And just for clarification, I got rid of that POS tunnel ram. Thanks for the other wheel suggestions though.

vobraman, you may be able to find some used Torq thrusts on Ebay. I believe they are about $200 a piece brand new.

If you don't dig 'em, then I totally understand. I agree that they're very common in 14" and 15", but not at all common in 17s, especially the forged versions that look like an fancied up TT2. Thats the only reason I really mentioned them...

BTW, I still think you made a good decision about the tunnel ram... looked cool, but you'll definitely get better performance from one of the popular aftermarket intakes.

Tasteful! I like it! Yours has a personal style without screwing up the original styling.
