PI cam+PI intake=problem!?

i got a gt 1996,i changed my intake and my cams, but now when i take my car for a ride, it's like my car don't have enough gas,if i gave gas very slowly it's ok but when i jump on the gas i have some hesitation, but when i rev it in neutral everything is fine, could it be my fuel pump?

The tune will just get you the best for the setup. You shouldn't have hesitaiton problems. Go back and check all of the vacuum lines, make sure they are OK. Also check the sparkplug wires to ensure they are OK...plugs too.

How did you mount the intake?

I am gonna make a guess only because my truck recently was doing something similar (it's stock but regardless...). Turned out my camshaft position sensor took a crap. I have no idea how this works on our cars but I thought I'd throw it out there.

+1 the PI cams will not give you problems. It is most likey the
PI intake.Double check your work and see if anything doesn't
look right. If nothing is wrong with the install get a dynotune ASAP.
Of what method did you install your PI intake?

It should still run fine without a tune. Fix the drivability issue first then get a tune. A tune isn't a must.If it's missing, it's likely spark plug wires. It would be easier to help you if you gave a better description of your symptoms. Does ot buck or just heitate then go? Or is it just lacking power but smooth? Sometimes when the wires are going you can even hear like a ticking noise, as the spark is jumping. Need more info.

True old spark plugs, spark plug wires, or bad coil packs can possibly
be the culprit.
Good luck I hope you fined the fix.

I have 10.4mm taylor spark plug wires and screaming demon coils, the thing i don't understand is why does it just happen when i drive the car, when the car is in neutral i can rev it at 6000rpm with no problem, when i drive the car and when the problem occur it's like i don't have enough fuel or i have my timing off(remember the time when ford have vacuum advance?)it's like the vacuum advance is off and on!!! of course if i had one!

i drive the car yesterday for about 30 miles, and the engine was running great. At first i thought i had a bad tank of fuel but now i know it's more than that.I really don't know what i should tell you to explain more than that.I hope some will help me to solve this problem.

When your car is in neutral, there is no load put on the engine, which means less fuel is used. When you put your car in gear, load is put on the engine, requiring much more fuel. Check your fuel pressure, you may not have enought fuel, or you might even have a clogged fuel filter, these all could cause hesitation. BTW, I have a 98 GT and I want to hook up PI cams, I think I know how to do it, but do you have a complete guide or walk-through for it, what tools did you have to use to make it easy.

Oh ya, also your fuel injectors might be clogged. Either take them off and get them professionally cleaned, get new ones, or just fuel injector cleaner(start with this one).

What pressure sould i have? and i think i will change my fuel filter in the same time.I will also check for(again)my plenum!
For the cams i bought the retention tool from AFM, but a good piece of wood will do the same job for free! and for the guide i did alot of research on this site and on corral.
