I know it can be done, but what has to be done to make it work? I am thinking of PI=spec Comp Cams in ported NPI heads for a KB setup. Swapping PI heads onto my 98 and getting a PI KB setup that will work with my 98 fuel system apparently won't work according to what others have said that I've found....eventhought I don't really understand why people say it won't work.

PI cams into a NPI head is a direct swap.

also i've heard people say that about the KB for PI heads not working on a PI swapped NPI car. I think the problem is KB won't sell it to you like that. I'm sure you could get a KB for a PI headed car and and add a KB boost a pump etc with some bigger injectors and get a custom tune. You would just have to adapt everything to your current fuel system. So i don't see why it cant be done? You could always add the FRPP roots blower. They do have a kit for the PI swapped NPI cars. but its no KB!

If I could get a KB kit for a '96-'98 car with the '99-'04 intake manifold I'd be in business and just go with the PI heads. I'd be interested in seeing the exact differences between the kits.

Seems to me that the manifold is the only real difference. So I'd like to look at kits both side by side and compare them to figure out what the real difference is.

Not being able to do that I will only consider the '96-'98 kit with ported NPI heads to keep variables at a minimum.

i don't see a problem with staying with the NPI heads either. check out www.steenracing.com they do some great porting on these heads. add a KB and some nice blower cams and you'd have one bad ass NPI mustang!
