Guys,

I have a complete PI engine from t/b to pil pan and everything in between including front cover and all accessories. Coil on plug design, etc. I have a 2004 mustang gt computer and a new 4r70w bolted up. I want to put all of this in my 1997 Mustang Gt. Can I use the '04 Computer and the coil on plug design? Shouldn't this swap with in?

Greatly appreciate the info.

Easy swap. I'd suggest using your coil packs and plug wires unless you feel like a wiring nightmare. The biggest issue you'll have (pending you get the wire harness as well) will be the pats.

With that said, you'll need to use ur npi front cover, cam covers, oil pan, dip stick/tube, oil filter mount, and such. Some of that will not need to be swithced if the motor came from a stang, (headers and oil filter mount, dip stick and oil pan). The front covers and cam covers are year specific.

Easy swap, you won't be sorry.

If you use the 2004 computer you will have to change your fuel system to the newer returnless style including new fuel pump.

Alright, Sounds like I need to swap my coil packs and get rid of the coil on plug, then use my stock computer. I have new wires so I can use those. IS there a place to mount the stock coils or can I fab something up so I dont have to take the timing cover off. Id Love to keep this thing intact as much as possible. Valve covers should be able to stay on I presume.

here is what I got Summit FMC46L - Summit Ford 4.6L Modular Engine with 4R70W Automatic Transmission Combos – SummitRacing.com

Each engine is equipped with these Ford components:

* Brand new 4R70W automatic transmission
* Performance Improvement 2V heads
* ECU
* Engine wiring harness
* Custom performance air intake
* MAF sensor
* Starter
* Shifter and cable assemblies
* Power steering pump
* A/C compressor

Your going to have to drill the front cover for coil mounts or put them on the firewall etc. I'd just swap the front cover and be done with it. It might take you an hour to do it.....
