PI heads/cams/intake swap. how hard?

hey all
i have a 97 GT and am about to start buying all the parts i need to do a PI head swap. im going to be getting PI romeo heads (those are the 01-04 heads right?), comp or hitech cams and edelbrock intake manifold. i plan on doing the swap in my garage, so what am i getting myself into? i feel as long as i follow the steps and triple check everything i should be fine. what do you guys think? any advice from someone who has done the same or similar job would be awesome

well....it's not super hard but you should be mechanically inclined for the job. There are a lot of things involved and you don't want to mess with the heads/cams if you don't have the proper tools or experience.....

Don't waste money on the eddy intake if your not going big psi blown.. A simple 200 (brand new) Pi intake will suffice.

that said, the romeo heads are the easiest, but windsor heads can be put on with just a bit more work/parts. remember to factor the price of gaskets in when you price things. Head change kits are 150-200 depending on what you get.

I am currently collecting parts for a family member who is pi swaping 98. let me know if you have any issues or questions. There is a thread up in the STICKY'S that has ALL The part #'s you need for either a romeo or windsor swap. Great info up there and helps with the small chit you forget about till its too late.

X2. I’ve seen massive torque losses with that intake on N/A applications. That intake is geared for blower applications.

The swap itself isn’t that hard, just find a good write up and follow the directions closely. I also recommend having the heads assembled with the cams it will make life easier. Here’s a good write up…
