PI Heads swap In MA

doug morgan in holbrook has done them before. Not sure what he would charge to do it, but it will be less than the other shops out there.

Damn.....That Doug Morgan in Holbrook must be quite the wrench! Always less than all of the other shops......no matter what the job and.....always the best too!

Thats right, which is why we don't waste our time w/ the other shops anymore. Why pay more for the same job when I can pay less and know its done right and actually be treated like a person not a dollar sign.

The only time his prices are higher than the rest is when the customer doesn't exist and has never called him like in another post where it was alleged that his prices were higher than Laferriere. Of course it was matt rise posting it.

Neither of us work there or ever have. We have both been to many of the other shops that you all think are the greatest thing since sliced bread and been anything but impressed. I call doug and I get a price that is reasonable, a date to drop it off and no games. I call the other shops and I either don't get a call back, get the runaround or talk to some clown who can't make up his mind on prices and claims to be a mustang specialist.

Everyone has their shop that they like to go to. We choose to have the job done once w/o problems and pay a reasonable price to have it done. We dont' get a kick back, work there or have anything to do w/ him other than being loyal customers. I don't see why you ignorance won't let you see that. Your name doesn't have to be Laferriere or Dez to get the job done right the first time.

Settle down tough guy...it was a joke, hence the smile after the sentence.

Also, where do you come off with the first half of your statement? Don't get all worked up over a joke :notnice:

can i have my "sliced bread" toasted? and Milenko , u ever go down to the street races in canton at the Industrail park ?
Not for a longgggg time...3 years I believe. I didn't even know people still went down there.

I did some digging, because I am in need of a shop. You guys seem to have short memories....

MYsitc....doug seems like a great guy,and im sure he is a great tech, but he quoted me higher than anyone else has quoted me...by far.

Here's a link to the thread in case you guys forgot, this might be what 01black was referring too.......http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=427321&highlight=Doug+Morgan

On a side note, I was at New England Dragway this past weekend for the Quikstreet race, and I saw one of LaFerrieres cars go to the final...out of 19 cars......I didn't see any cars from Doug Morgan there tho.....

O boy,Let me start by sayin I really/truely do not even begin to care where any body goes.

I'd like to know more about Mr. Morgan
1. Whats the fastest/quickest/most hp, EFI car he has worked on/built
2. Did he ever work @ a Ford dealer?
3. Does he do chips?

You are 100,000% correct your name does not have to Dez/Laferriere/Pucell, however there is @ least some Value in dealing with a shop that has race/performance experience, all 3 of those guys have been in magazine's been contributors to local racing etc.

Madman, sorry for taking this thread off topic, i would call around, and find a shop that has done this swap in the past, and can do it in a timely manor with your schedule. As for pricing, call a place like JDM, pauls high performance etc they both advertise in the magazines and specialize in mod motor vechiles, they have done just about anything you could think of and could @ least tell you how many hours it takes/ a price based on there hourly rate since i believe that is becoming a common swap.

i dont like to jump into these threads anymore but i will toss in something i quess..

i think the best car that has come out of his shop is a 93 teal green cobra , if any of u guys go to the Rodman car show this weekend check it out plate says "svt93" has a vortech on it and a mach 1 hood .look at the detail on the car ..subframes connectors painted color of the car ,has alot of detail done to it underneath the car painted and clear coated something i have never seen any shop do ...and his last numbers putting down were 490 at the wheels at Dez's place but ran out of fuel needed bigger injectors.

working @ a ford dealership doesnt mean Jack crap , i had a guy who worked for ford put together my old car for me and blew 2 headgaskets in 1 month ... any body can work at ford and be called a Tech ,doesnt mean they can work on a car.

and as far as chips i think the only one mentioned here is Dez and he just started doing them .i think what people should start to do on here when they are looking for work to get done hit the "search" button and look on there own or call around . these threads are starting to get out of hand and it sux ....

and i called Dez the other day to ask him a question about my car , rushing me off the phone , kept saying he was busy for weeks ,and then said reason why i might be having belt problems was my bypass valve .then said call me in a few weeks... oh well

Why did u call Dez, If Mr. Morgan is your man, he can't take care of your belt problem?

I dont think Dez is in business to tell people how to fix there cars, If i buy a remote car starter, can i call you and tell me how to change the settings because it starts my neighbor's car

All of the mustang shops in the area can handle chips, they most likely will call Mike Freedman to either meet them @ the dyno or @ there shop to take care of the customer's car, it will be 1 stop shopping if all goes well

Mystic, this post isn't intended to be a flame in any way, It bothers me to see the mustang specific shops belittled, these guys have been playin with stuff for years, and deserve more credit/value than being compare to some1 who just pulls out the book and quote flat rate prices

ok i quess i have to explain my self on everythread here.. super if u need to talk to me catch me on Nems...but for real quick .. i called Dez for a 2nd opion to see what he had to say ...and your right Dez is not in businness to tell people how to fix there cars but how did he know that i wasnt a custmer who wanted to get some work done to there car ?and if u u or anyone ever did call me to see if i could help them on settings on there car starter i would help for the reason that later on down the road u sit and say to your self"hey that guy helped me before maybe i will try him again and bring him some work "i quess u dont work in the retail/shop area...and there are storys all over the net about every damn shop around new england..and every shop has some goods and bads ...... oh well like i said before hit the search button at the top makes things easier .....

Madman213 I perfer Doug Morgan. You can pm Me for his # if you are interested I am not forcing you to use one shop over the other. But I will say MPE Over charges for alot of there work. Mystic1199,01blacksvt,notchstang92 Are only letting people know about there experiances with other shops. Not dogging them and what's wrong with getting someone else besides MPE, Laferriere and Dez some businness.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with promoting a fledgling shop. It would be better IMO to relay negative experiences to someone who is looking for work to be done in a PM or email. That is, if your intention is to help that person find a "good" shop and not just to get back at those you personally have bad dealings with. BUT! Let me say that my dealings with Eric's L. shop have been all positive. He's built me a motor that has seen nothing but track duty and despite my driving style, has performed awesome. He is in the process helping me build a car to run Drag Radial class. It's an expensive hobby for sure as I have found out. Although I do alot of work myself I do go to Eric for his experience with building race motors and cars. I believe from other people that Mike Dezotel would also provide the knowledge and expertise to put together a winning combination. It seems this Doug Morgan is a good person to go to also.
Before you go and claim I am one of Eric's buddies or have a connection to his shop you would be wrong. I have only known him for about 2 years and although I consider him a friend, being that I am 49 yrs old and live in Ma. I don't really think we hang in the same places. His shop was recommended to me and it worked out great. See you at the track.........

I have never said that the others shops do bad work,Nor would i ever. Everyone has there own opinion on what shop they think is best and which shop sucks.Your right about the pm or email thing maybe that's what everyone should do instead of arguing over it.
