This might be a dumb question, but is the only difference between the stock PI heads and the PI Stage 1 heads the polished intake and exhaust ports?
Are the stock PI heads just smooth not polished??

The stock PI heads have swirl dams and I think the stage 1 removes them. I could be wrong and someone will say so if I am.

P.S. Only dumb question is a question not asked.

here's another kit for $1375 http://www.steenracing.com/portandpolish.htm

not real sure if it comes with cams though

thats about normal price , but alot of the older mustangs are getting up in mileage , I have been on the look out for a PI engine to build for my car later on so I dont have as much down time between engine swaps and was quoted 1350 for a complete PI engine , TB to oil pan and all accessories including AC compressor with only 42K miles on it , seems to me if you had alot of miles on an engine a PI motor swap would be a better deal .

Computer too?

no but you dont need the computer , just swap all the fuel supply stuff from the old engine and tap the intake . but im sure the computer and harness if it wasnt sold wouldnt be much more but it would be easier to just use the electronics and fuel rails etc . from the old engine .
