what is needed to swap a 99 and up intake on a 98 car. the 98's cracked where the mradiator hose meets and we wanna put a pi intake on IT. What is needed to do this??
Try a seach with "PI intake" and you'll find some useful threads.
From what I've read, the gasket surface on PI intake does not match the intake ports on the non PI head, the bolts match, however. Some folks have installed them anyway and gooped it up with sealant but there is also an adaptor kit w/ intake available for $650. Personally, I don't like either of these options. IMO, the adaptor kit is too expensive for what you get and the sealant idea is mickey mouse.
I wonder if it would be possible to repair the cracked intake, maybe with epoxy?
If you're willing to spend a bit more money and are willing to do some more serious wrenching it would be better to get some PI heads and the PI manifold. You'll get a lot more performance than with just the PI intake and no longer will those 99&up GT's blow by you.
First go over to modular depot and make a post on their parts forum asking randy for the parts needed to do your swap. Tell him you want the NPI gaskets. When you remove the old intake, spend a lot of time cleaning the old gasket material off the old heads. set the Non-PI gaskets in place and CAREFULLY slide the intake on. Follow the tourqe sequence in your manual and you should have no troubles with leaks. That's exactly how i did my swap and i didn't use a bit of sealant. P.S. all the gaskets and such from randy should run you a little more than $60 and order the intake through summit racing. $199 If you need anymore INformation just shoot me a PM

No problem blackcobra. I did the swap myself in my driveway. I worked on it in the afternoons after work. Worked on it about 2-3 hours each day and it only took my 3 afternoons. Once i started going back up with it i REALLY took my time to make sure i had all plugs and vacuum lines back where they belonged. I started it up and to my surprise i had not a single problem. I had heard so many people on here having problem when they did their swaps. Either i got lucky or the people with the problems weren't careful enough.
