If you are putting PI heads on, yes. I can't imagine putting time and money into heads and not doing the intake.Black Stang 97 said:Do i have to change the PI intake and the PI heads at the same time??

there are 96-98GT adapter plates for a PI intake for non PI heads. but it's a waste of money. might as well get it all done at the same time
I sorta agree with you because I bought the plates. I lost torque due to the drop in compression from the 1 inch thickness of the plate. At least that's my theory. HOWEVER....I did notice it pulled alot harder up top and I'm pretty sure some of that can be attributed to the smoother transition from the PI intake to the NON-PI heads. If I had to do it over I think I would do it exactly the same. Only reason is because I know I had a good seal right from the get go. I know alot of people have had great success without the plates, but I felt better knowing they were there. But, the heads are in my garage, my vacation is less then 2 weeks away and the heads will be in.tomustang said:yes, i mean why wouldn't you?

Yes. You'll notice it pulls alot harder in the higher RPM's. Typical gains, depending on other mods, have gone from 15 - 20 hp. Some may say more, but I have only seen dyno sheets reflecting 15 - 20.Black Stang 97 said:So i can just put the PI intake and then later on get the PI heads?? Would there be alot better performance with just the PI intake???
