Can you do an Intake swap without the heads? I know you can't do the heads without the intake, but how about the other way arround?

Here's the problem. I have been saving for the entire PI swap, but it turns out my intake manifold is currently leaking out all my collant because it's cracked, so I was wondering if I could just swap the intake early while I save for the rest.

Any help.

Well I want to do the whole thing, just doing one part first because the stock one is cracked and I need it replaced.

So it should be ok if I do it like this? Also how much do you think the install would be on this?

dont pay to install!!

do it urself, only took me about 2 hours for mine. its not really that hard at all. just get rtv and seal around the ports to match. if u need help there are many on this board who have done it, including myself. i also have close-up pics of the areas to seal.

well I went to 2 different shops and both said it can't be done.
That's because they've never tried. They see misaligning ports and don't even make an attempt. Those my friend aren’t revered to a mechanics, those are what we like to call parts changers. Ask them to tell that to the handful of people who've done it on here and dozens who've done it on tccoa.com to their '94-'96 T-Bird/Cougar

why cant u do it urself? its really not that hard. most mechanics arent gonna do it anyway cuz of the misalignments, as they say

btw, i had mechanics say the PI headswap wont work on my 96. they said it was way too complex to be done. but i did that myself with no problems at all.

but really, give it a shot.

:spot: YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!! but beware you car has 2 spots for the temp sensors on the non pi intake. and new improved 99-04 intakes have only one spot. So what most people do is either run a t-fitting into the one sensor hole which i do not recomend. or tap a hole in the therm. housing. or there is a hole on the side of the block "drivers side" that you can put the other one all you have to do is extend the wires...But if i were you i would plan on getting the new aluminum crossover intake instead of the plastic one or you might see yourself doing it again in the future...... good luck bro!!! :flag:
