I was looking at the ford racing catolog at the pi heads and intake. If i was to get these would I need both at the same time or could I do them seperatly? My cars a 98 gt auto. thanks for any help
well, unbolting and rebolting the manifold isnt really that hard. the benefit of doing the intake first, like i did, was you get the 2nd sensor tapped already and you get the coolant line switched out before you get to the heads.bdcardinal said:if you do the heads, you need the intake. but you can jsut do the intake. however i would suggest doing them all at once to get the maximum impact with minimum work/ labor cost involved.

I wouldn't say a big difference, but a difference yes. You will see a larger improvement with long tubes. On a Stock Stang, headers will free up a several ponies, on a fully modded Stang, adding headers will give you a big boost, because all that power your modded motor could be making will be restricted by the stock exhaust. Think of a garden hose, if you have 20psi of water pressure going through a 1 inch hose, and you hook that hose up to a 2inch hose, your not going to fill your bucket up any faster than just using the 1 inch hose. But if you hook that 2 inch hose up to you water source you'll have your bucket full in no time. Same applies to an engine, if you free up your exhaust, you must free up your intake and heads for everything to work together.americanjesus said:will headers make a big difference in power?
Not unless you went with headers at the same time. If you just do a PI headswap your A/F ratio will be identical to the stock non PI stuff. As long as you run premium in it post swap it will last just as long as a lower compression one will as long as you dont race it every time you drive it.americanjesus said:also I would probally have to get my chip flashed or tune due to the higher compression right?
