if you do the heads, you need the intake. but you can jsut do the intake. however i would suggest doing them all at once to get the maximum impact with minimum work/ labor cost involved.

well, unbolting and rebolting the manifold isnt really that hard. the benefit of doing the intake first, like i did, was you get the 2nd sensor tapped already and you get the coolant line switched out before you get to the heads.

I have flowmaster A/t and a catted mac H pipe. Should I change the headers to go along with the pi? or are they fine?

you can do the headers at the same time. true unbolting the manifold is fairly easy. i just prefer doing everything at once.

Should I do the headers at the same time though? I dont have the biggest budget.

its probably easier to do them at the same time. i would highly suggest going to ebay for the heads. i got mine for a killer deal. they are used, but i have access to an engine lab so i can do all the rebuild work to themmyself.

It's alot easier to do the headers while you are doing the headswap, otherwise it's a bit of a **tch to do.

will headers make a big difference in power?

I wouldn't say a big difference, but a difference yes. You will see a larger improvement with long tubes. On a Stock Stang, headers will free up a several ponies, on a fully modded Stang, adding headers will give you a big boost, because all that power your modded motor could be making will be restricted by the stock exhaust. Think of a garden hose, if you have 20psi of water pressure going through a 1 inch hose, and you hook that hose up to a 2inch hose, your not going to fill your bucket up any faster than just using the 1 inch hose. But if you hook that 2 inch hose up to you water source you'll have your bucket full in no time. Same applies to an engine, if you free up your exhaust, you must free up your intake and heads for everything to work together.

If you can afford it get long tube headers at the same time you do the headswap. it is alot easier while the heads are off and the top end of your motor is out of the way. the more freer flowing you can make your entire system the better power you will make. Do a Cold air industion kit, new PI intake, long tubes, mid pipe(I'd suggest a Mac Prochamber but that's just me), and cat back exhaust. If I remember correctly you have some of this stuff already. Buy the heads and intake at the same time if funds permit. it will get kind of expensive but worth it in the end. I wouldn't change any of my mods.

Sorry I missed this, you can get the chip later on as well. You don't have to get it right away.

I would get lts but I already have a Mac H pipe so, I would have to buy long tubes and a new mid pipe to. There no problem running at the higher compression? is this going to hurt the engine in the long run, even if I get a new chip? thanks

Not unless you went with headers at the same time. If you just do a PI headswap your A/F ratio will be identical to the stock non PI stuff. As long as you run premium in it post swap it will last just as long as a lower compression one will as long as you dont race it every time you drive it.
