Could someone help me find the location on a 1965/66 rear end housing where the vent tube fitting comes out of the rear end? I replace my 1966 8" rear end with a 1957 9" rear end (the 8" is long gone).

The vent tube fittings are in different locations on the rear end and I had to make custom brake lines for it to work before. Since I have the rear end out to change some gears, seals, and leaf spring reinforcement saddle plates I want to reposition the vent tube fitting so I can use my pre-made ss lines that came in a kit.

So any pics and actual measurements would be great.

Thanks.

When I did my swap, I installed the 8" tubing on the 9" rear. I found where the Y block would fit comfortably on top of the housing and welded a nut to the housing. I then ran a bolt down through the Y block into the nut to hold it all in lace. Works great.

Thanks guys. The pics and my pre-bent line should get me there.

James - nice disc brake setup.
