Man, i was really hoping for engine bay shots...but GREAT pics!

How is the magnacharger? better than KB or whipple?

I can't really say for sure but I'd say that it being better than the Whipple would be a stretch.

This guy runs very low 12's on 1.6 short times with his setup. He could definitely benefit from a really nice tune to get him into 11's.

I'll get engine bay shots eventually.

Ahha! another black Gt with 18 " polished wheels..Nice combo..He should be in the 11's with 1.60' times..He should definitly get a custom tune. I found 57 rwhp over the canned vortechtune when my shop did mine..

Beautiful pics!

This is one thing that really amazes me about Spyder7724's car. His N/A under 300RWHP car is running 11.8s! Amazing what good suspension work and gaining back lost power in the drivetrain can do.

Anti, the camera skill are serious now my man..

Agreeing with heavy, the only was a 300 or less horse car is cuttin 11's is if it goes on a 1100 lb diet. You can't push these cars to those times with this weight.

the web would be filled with stock power planted Gt's with only a host of suspension mods.

Here is his post from 11/3/07 on another forum! He has aftermarket torque converter, 4.30 gears, MT ET Streets, no passenger/back seat, lightweight driver seat and uses short belts to gain back lost power. The day I saw him run 12.1s he said his car had been dynoed at 297 RWHP.

Mission Completion...finally in the 11's... with bolt-ons only!!
here's tonights runs:
12.030 @ 113.48
12.012 @ 112.90
12.01 @ 112.35

11.98@ 110.10

then last ditch bonzai run with no belt

11.893 @ 111.04
the mph was low(-3 to 5mph from previous runs) cause the engine developed a misfire on top end and i think i finally killed the battery from last weeks drain(left the fan on trying to fix a flat) so tomorrow it gets a new battery and hopefully it cures the problem. if not for that it could have been a low 11.8- run.
I have many people to thank for helping me reach my goal including God, my wife & kids and:
JJ, Doug, Joe for all the tuning help!!!
also all you guys/gals here on the forum(s), my customers & dealers and lots more that i'll email personally.
what next?
there is a zex kit coming my way already and i'll shoot for mid 10's maybe? how fast do you think i can go on a stock longblock?
or
maybe i'll just build one bad ass N/A motor......

'06 GT auto N/A stock longblock = 11.89@ 114.77mph

I don't think running 11.8's in the quarter in a sub 300 RWHP Mustang is possible...period!! Sorry not gonna happen.

I know 90% is from his knowledge of the car and driving skill. He has been drag racing a long time. All day that day he had better times(not speeds)than most of the F/I S197s! Most of the F/I cars were on DRs and street slicks as well! They were beating his speeds by about 5-10 MPH, but running nearly .5-.75 seconds slower. I believe he was getting 1.6-1.7 60' times. Also has to weigh at least 200-300 lbs less than the F/I cars as well.

Even so it's a nice trick, the entire "no belt" thing bothers me.

My take is that you either race your care in street trim (full interior, mods etc.,) or you just go all out and make it a race car and strip the interior, remove the AC and all that jazz.

But either way, more power to him on an 11.9.

In the latest Mustangs and fast fords mag, didnt Jim Damore III run an 11.6 with a Stroked out N/A S-197 and a 1.60 60 ft' ??..An 11.9 is unbelievable with out some compression help, but Ill bite...So A proffesionally modded car like Damore III is only 3 tenths faster?? Something dont add up here...

Here is a video Spyder7724 posted just yesterday.

Also there is a guy who is trying to get a bunch of N/A cars together at the same track and have some kind of shootout. The target ET range is currently 11.0-12.5 and there is about 7 or 8 cars in that range in the Mid Atlantic region.
