Probalby going to get a "non-tech" demerit for this but here is my favorite picture: (Yes, it's Medium Cabernet Red)

Edit: Here is another picture of the color

srothfuss, clean ride man. my car is med cabernet too, and i was debating whether i should change color to another red or even black, but those pics just threw out all doubt of staying with factory color. (my paint is in bad shape, only clearcoat left really is on left back bumper)

anyway, only thing i do not care for is the red stripe, only because it bugs me so much on my car. (all faded and some ripped off)

in conclusion.... free post

p.s. : are those kelly's roadhugger gt's?

My tires are Bridgestone Potenza G009's... They were as close as I could get to a directional tire and still keep the factory tire size. Still a good tire though.

I have had thoughts about removing the stripe. Only because most of the time, it looks orange. But then I become torn between leaving it original or making it look the way I want it to.

tbi - your may be cabernet red..........it tends to morph to a lighter color in the sun.......look at the attached photo of mine in partial sun (that's me with my youngest daughter who is now 19)........but it does look more strawberry in color.

those pictures are kinda sketchy on all of the colors, so it is hard to tell, but my best guess is you're lookin at factory paint.

either way, your paint is not the same as new med. cabernet, so paint matching will not work if you use the factory color.

time for a new paintjob

True... The local body man should be able to paint match to your car given the condition of your paint so it shouldn't be too hard to get the colors to line up.

Ha - most people think those are camo, but they really are not - but it sure looks like it. They were a gift from my daughters. I'd put em too good use if deer season was August.

The car was hit in a parking lot over early last summer. It cracked the front bumper cover and put a small ding in the passenger fender. The cover was replaced with a new piece so the whole front half was reapired, then resprayed and blended to match the rear.

The orange stripe is just a colored piece of 3M tape. They apply it just like a big pin stripe right in the channel of the moldings. I couldn't believe it.

Here is a pic of my car, still wearing the original 87 Medium Cabernet paint. It still looks fairly good after compounding and polishing it, if you ignore all the bare spots down to the primer! It was just as nice as srothfuss' car when it was new. I can't wait until I can get it repainted.

Guy's my car isn't that great... It still has a long way to go before it will get my seal of approval. Those pictures of my car are my favorite because the lighting was perfect. It really brings out the brighter red in the color.

TRB - your car looks very good.
