That's F'in sweet. First thing i would do is yank off the TRX's and put'em in storage...and get some clean 10 holes for it. Tires alone for those TRX's are hard as hell to find, and once you curb one you can forget it.

Thanks 85_SS_302_Coupe! I already have 1 set of TRX's in storage (for sale now in classifieds), and these ones will soon be there. I would like to find a nice sent of Turbines or Pony's and get the powder coated Gunmetal. I think that would look good.

just kidding man that thing is really nice, it looks like someone has taken very good care of it, are you going to mod it or leave it alone?

I am going to try not to do anything that is not reversible. I want to tint it, rims, dual exhaust, new carb\intake, lower it a little, and a short throw shifter. No major mods at this time. There are a few spots on the body that will be getting tended to over the winter, but nothing major, cant even call it surface rust. The driver side floor pan has one rough spot that may need to be cut out, but we will see. Overall, for $5000, I think it was a good buy.

I want to measure mine. It doesn't look that tall.

Car looks very nice too!

pretty sure they made some more. just 1001 of them were only gt's. if i remeber correctly only a handful of them were aods. and VERY few were 4 speeds. ie only ever seen one 4 speed 83 5.0 GT and it was at a curise in.

Your car and mine could almost be siblings.

I'm really liking that steering wheel. Now that I think about it, there's a four-eye with the same wheel in my local 'yard. I just might hafta pick that up this weekend. Since your interior's so close to mine, that pic really gives me a good idea of how it'd look in mine.

A set of clean turbine rims and duals on there would really go nicely.

You're right Ryan...1001 was just the GT's...there were many other verts in GLX form as well, both V6 and 5.0...the 4-speed you speak of was likely an early run car, they switched to the T5 after the first couple months of production...

I realize there were many 83 Verts, I just didnt know the GT number was so low

And I hated the 83 steering wheel. I like the wheel that everyone else hated, the 84-86 wheel. I liked the later Fox one even better. But I am weird ;shrug:

82-83 GT non cruise

82-83 cruise is like this vert posted

84 Cruise

84-86 GT non cruise

85-86 GT cruise

the 84-86 LX's without cruise used almost the same wheel as the GT, without the "bolt on" look ford oval surround and without the faux leather stitching. My favorites are the 82-83 non cruise and the 84-86 non cruise. the rest suck to me.

Yeah, the 84-86 wheels are killer. I bought a Grant wheel for my 89GT that looked almost identical to that. I didnt care about the cruise control as I lived in Maui and there was not a single section of road it could be used on

My '84 wheel is non-cruise, and it looks just like the cruise wheel shown above. I hate it - ugly and uncomfortable.

I had one of those in an old ranger, and that is all I can think of when I see it.
