was the car re-painted? it looks like the paint on the decklid is dull by the
licence plate area.

That's probably just glare/reflection...

AFAIK, the car hasn't been repainted. The rear decklid by the license plate is in good condition, albeit the paint has a good amount of orange peel. Hopefully a good wet sand detail will take care of that.
