The car market in California is its own entity, in and of itself, that's for dang sure. ESPECIALLY in Southern California and MOST ESPECIALLY in Riverside/Oceanside and Orange County , such as the area the original poster bought that car from.
North Carolina and California are two completely different markets. As are California and Texas; my wife is buying a 350z next week in Texas and the exact same car in California was going to cost us $4,900 more just because it's California and then there are all the taxes too.
Buying a car in CA sucks. Selling a car in CA is great. 'Nuff Said.It really is a seller's market here.
But here's a question for the original poster, juiced. God forbid, you two break up in a couple months or something after you bought this GT from her and you part ways. I assume you left the car in your name and she's really just borrowing it; it's not really hers right? I've seen way too many people make big purchases like this for their BF/GF at th etime (even of several years like you and your girlfriend) only to turn around, break up and be very miserable afterwards.
Just wondering if you planned for that, no matter how unlikely.

I don't know about that... there ARE good deals to be had in SoCal, if you take your time & do your homework. I bought my '01 GT 'vert (premium) one year ago for $12.6k OUT THE DOOR. Actual selling price was $11,495.00. It had just over 31k miles on the odometer. And yes, this WAS from a dealership (in Pasadena). Had a few scuffs in the clearcoat, but they buffed right out as I expected. One little scrape on the side bolster of the driver's seat, but the interior was otherwise pretty much like new- a surprise for white leather.
