there's alot of ideas out there on the table, so here's mine...
i wouldn't buy a new K member until you know there's something wrong with it... (you dont have to switch to coil over for a tubular K) I've seen serious front end issues with this happen between the K member and how it's bolted to the front frame of the car. What I would suggest is to pull in another 94-95 5.0 (I've done that 100 times) and start to compare (measurements, not by eyesight)
Possibilities are endless, but if I had to guess, I would say first that the possibility that the car was hit so hard that it moved the K member back (on one side) is a far stretch of the imagination, for me anyways. (Unless of course the car hit something on the drivers side undercarriage only and that is possible, but unlikely) A hit that hard would surely have bent the frame and required a frame straightener. Now, if this did happen - the shop could have put it back together off center
CC plates move wheel angles, not placement.
Someone putting on the wrong Control arm would truly be a feat of genius.
BUT...
My official guess is the car was put together this way (mass vehicle production is not flawless) and the K member is just bolted in that way ( a little off ) and you just need to do some adjusting.
If you can not find marks around the mounting areas (for all the front end pieces) or bends/ripples in the front unibody frame AND the bolt holes are the same distances from each other and the body of the car... start swapping parts...
this is where a network of buddies with SN-95's come in, as I've done this before - just start with the easiest part and move up - with a good shop and the right tools, it'd take me and a friend a full day max - that's a lot of work I know - but it cuts down on pricey unnecessary parts and affords me the opportunity to do what I love most - work on the cars...
