Ok so most of the regulars on this site have seen 87ttopsstang and know that it is absolutly gorgeous ... what a car .. but one of the things i like most on it is that the handles, weather stripping, and mirrors, are painted the same color as the car. I need a paint job and all that stuff on my car is sun-baked to hell!! and rather than replacing all of it, i got the idea from his car to just paint over it. So if anyone else has any pictures of a mustang like that, please post them, and let me know what you all think of the idea. Thanks in advance!

dont do it...grossness...it only works on 87ttop's car because it is SO well done. that is the ONE and ONLY mustang i have ever seen that it didnt look hideous. i think the color helps the look as well.

paint it, yes. but do it with satin black.

here is one with painted moldings the same as the car...see how it just doesnt blend with the big black quarter windows??

I disagree, i think cars look far better with it all painted. Cleaner looking thats my 2 cents!

Now thats the color of my car (or very close to it) except i have the two tone .. titanium on the bottom ... i dont think that it looks too bad, i actually kind of like it but, it would look much better if the windows were tinted because then the quarters would blend right in and not clash so much like you say .. also the satin black idea sounds good, do you know anyone who has done that? rather than just replacing the stripping ... Thanks everyone so far .. keep the ideas comin ...

everyone who paints their car usually paint the window moldings black at the same time. IMO if you keep it black and tint the windows, then that whole window area looks streamlined as one, without the colored vertical bar breaking it up. take this car for example...if his door frame was re-painted to blend in better, it would look amazing:

or here is a blue close to yours, with somewhat tinted windows and all black trim...not too shabby

also consider though that its tough to get the windows to blend in with the 1/4 window black because window tint isnt opaque...as illustated here...it does look better though

and on an all black car...moldings are already black...but...'nuff said...(tunedin302's car)

Yea i see what you mean about the red one .. see colored cars seem more difficult to decide on .. if it was black it would look unbelievable with everything repatined black ... but i still like the first blue on you posted ... mayby not the doormoldings ... but i am def. going to paint the handles and posssibly the mirrors .. let me know what you think...

handles is cool, but id leave the mirrors black. they are meant to blend with the door moldings too, and tend to look odd as they would "break up" the black at that front corner.

if you were going to a darker color it wouldnt be bad, which is what tends to work better on 87ttop's car, but the light colors stand out alot esp against the black of the 1/4 glass

The door handles would probably look okay, but I would definitely leave the mirrors and all trim black.

No offence taken. Everyone has the right to his/her own opinion. I think painted moldings look good on the right colour of car. That is my opinion. I think on my car, the moldings look better painted then they would black. The colour just seems to flow more than if it were broken up by the black mirrors and trim.

Just my opinion. AND..thanks for the compliments

the whole painted molding thing looks completely different on your car 87ttop....you have convertible style doors so you dont have the bar that goes over the top of the window....it looks AMAZING on your car...but just in the same, the blue one quick91lx posted...looks cheezy.

Maybe that is what it is. You are right, I do not have the molding on the upper part of the door. I just have the black rubber that seals the glass and the roof when the T-Tops are in.
