the whole painted molding thing looks completely different on your car 87ttop....you have convertible style doors so you dont have the bar that goes over the top of the window....it looks AMAZING on your car...but just in the same, the blue one quick91lx posted...looks cheezy.

Since my T-Top Stang is in the process of getting repainted, I'll chime in here. I think the black trim is the ONLY way to go. 87ttop, is the end of your glass painted body color too? So that when the glass is IN, you have that color going all over and not one spot of black trim?

See my color is much darker, but I just can't see doing all the trim around the glass, and the rubber around the quarter windows body color. The black just really makes it stand out more.

I think the TTops are what does it, as well as the dark color. If that car wasnt TToped I think I wouldnt like it, but it does work alright. Of course the car is top notch, but the paint is what I am referring to!

Yeah, one piece of black trim would like hideous.

In my eyes, the painted moldings make the entire paint job look cheap and half ass. To properly paint a car, all the mouldings and quarter windows should be removed. Instead, alot of people leave the moldings on and paint over them, aka a lazy paint job. Im just really meticulous about everything being removed prior to the paint job.

Mine were removed and painted off the car. Then put back on.

Usually when they are painted on the car the paint drips onto the next panel. You did it the right which again proves that it works on your car. White is the WORSE color to color match the mouldings to. blah

What is the best way to paint the mirrors and door handles and moldings anyway? I want to paint mine black. Do they need to be stripped or anything first or can you just paint over the old paint?
