Performance Improvement Harness by PRO-M

i got the old style plug n play kit.. as opposed to the new Next Gen kit that makes u swap pins and wires urself.

what it does is allows u to plug an 87-93 A9L computer into your 94-95 mustang.. because we all know.. the 94-95 mustang computer sucks ass, especially once u start modding the car.. ive got a superchip and decided its about worthless.. so i sprung for this kit.

I did it one a friend car... was going to do it to mine but since i'm going to a PMS winter of 04 i decided to save my money... It made a big improvement on my buddys 95 Cobra with an e-cam he cut .4 in the 1/4 mile with it.... Car ran much smoother also... just make sure your running and aftermarket ignition and have a strong back if you got the Next Gen version because you will be laying down awhile swaping a few pins which isn't a big deal..

i bought a pih off ebay,
I had heads cam intake done on my 95 and the e-cam kept stalling my car, it just wouldnt run.
Installed the PIH and lo and behold, the car idled and ran. It's great because you can set the fan speeds for certain temperatures. It worked great for me just because my car wasnt working at all before i installed it.

yeah i have heads, custom cam, intake etc.. u can see my sig.. i am running msd ignition.. i ordered the old style that is plug and play tho instead of the next gen. my car right now will lope its self out and die.. or rev real high.. then real low.. idles different all the time.. sometimes chokes its self out and stalls.. hopefully it will run a lot better..

awsome to hear good things about it.. going to be sooo pissed if it turns out to be a big waste of money.

I installed a 1st gen PIH kit with A9L about 4 years ago before my h/c/i. I thought, at the time, it was awesome. Throttle response seemed so much better and it completely eliminated any sort of pinging problem. After the kit, I went to 14 degrees timing advance with no pinging.

With my h/e cam/intake, it enabled me to have a rock-solid 800 rpm idle. thumbs up from me.

I just installed the next gen PIH, and it was well worth the money, the computer was hard to get out, but after its out, its just a matter of moving 11 connector pins and splicing 7 wires adding the BAP sensor and the fan controller and installing the 93 CPU. My kit had the A9M version CPU. the kit really improved the overall perfromance of my car, and I no longer have the check engine light coming on when ever I mash the pedal ( had this problem since I installed the 76 MM C&L Mass Air sensor) even slightly improved gas usage.

well mine is do in tomorrow, its the 1st gen.. hopefully get it in this weekend and see how much better the car runs.. you guys have any dyno numbers with and without the PIH? just curious what kind of power difference it made.

i dynoed 290 rwhp little bit ago.. im hoping with the computer swap, new plugs and wires, and a few other minor adjustments i can pull down over 300 to the wheels..

Sorry, I don't have any dyno numbers, wish I did but the closest dyno operator around here will only run engines that he built. After that its a VERY long drive to the nearest Dyno. I guess that your going to loose your chip, but your not loosing much, the stock 94-95 cpu is more concerned with emisions then performance, when my car was stock it had some get up and go but when I stated moding it lost its get up and go and after install of the PIH I can really notice the differance.

What is so different between the computers that makes this difference? If you get an EEC tuner or tweecer, can't you just basically copy EVERYTHING from the older computer and get the same results, PLUS some extra tweeking? I'm just baffled why this would be! Help me quick, cuz i'm about to put in an E cam!

The 94-95's use a load calculation to determine fuel enrichment and spark advance. This is what screws up our performance. When we change something, the actual load changes while the computer calculates it the same way.

plus a I recal 1994 was the first year of the California emision standards, plus I seem to recall that there was even a California only cpu for the mustang.

yea, one of the most annoying things ive noticed is with the bigger cam the car doesnt like to run with the AC on. As long as u keep the idle high or feather the gas at a stop light it seems to be ok.. but if ur stopped at a stop light or sometihng at normal idle with the AC on.. the car dies. annoying as piss.. i like my AC.. get tooo hot in the summer for me to go without it!!
